Method Media Bermuda was started in 2011 by producer Milton Raposo. Feeling stagnant while working on material that was limited in scope and content, out of necessity, he created a production house that allowed him to pursue and create projects that interested him and cater to clients.
MMB has produced video content for a broad range of clients - everything from Bermuda's new hospital redevelopment, re-insurance, the last three general election year campaigns, tourism campaigns, the oceanic Exclusive Economic Zone, international sports and much more.
On the flip side, MMB has produced many short documentary films which include topics like declining shark populations, heroin addiction in Bermuda, history and biography films. Hometown Hero (2016) is a 20 minute film about the reaction to the passing of music icon Prince in the city of Minneapolis and how the city dealt with losing its most famous native.
In November 2019, MMB realeased its biggest project to date: FABRIC: Portuguese History in Bermuda which debuted to four consecutive sold out screenings. A decade in the making, FABRIC tells the 170 plus year story of the Portuguese community that has helped shape Bermuda into the country that it is today.
The MMB motto is "Tell The Whole Story".
So who is Method Media?
Method Media Bermuda is me, Milton Raposo. I've always had the habit of getting involved in all sorts. I co-founded the environmental charity Greenrock in 2005 and served as VP for two years and then sat on the first management committee of the Bermuda Environmental and Sustainability Taskforce (BEST). I'm a former vice chair of both the Bermuda Arts Council and The Chewstick Foundation and a former member of the Heritage Advisory Council for the Bermuda Government (13 plus years) and former board member of the Bermuda Society of Arts. I'm a co-founder and former treasurer of the Neil Burnie Foundation. I joined the Bermuda College as Media Arts adjunct lecturer for the January 2020 Winter semester.
I play a little keyboards with numerous bands most notably with Joy T. Barnum and formerly the Chewstick House Band and opened up for Lykke Li, Toni Braxton, Langhorne Slim and others.
My favourite movie is The Wizard Of Oz for many reasons but mostly because it embodies eight film genres into one piece: action/adventure, comedy, horror, musical, science fiction, fantasy, drama, and western.
I collect old vinyl records.
