TranSFORMING THE BEAUTIFUL GAME

Production on the Clyde Best doc has been going on for about 2 years now and last year two very important shoots happened: one in London and one in Bermuda. Filming also occurred in Bristol and Cheltenham where we interviewed football legends like Sir Geoffrey Hurst and Harry Redknapp. We also managed to squeeze in an interview with Bermuda’s own Nahki Wells.

The crew also had the chance to film one afternoon in the Olympic Stadium with Clyde where he received a roaring reception from attendees to the game that day: West Ham v Man U. Clyde’s beloved West Ham won the match too!

Then in September, the crew came back to Bermuda to film historical recreations and more interviews where we conducted a casting call for young Bermudian football players and a team of British sailors from the 1960s. From that we selected a young actor to portray a teenaged Clyde Best. Production continues and editing will begin soon! Here’s a quick trailer!

While METHOD was in London, we joined forces with our friends at Long Tale Productions in LA to fix another big shoot, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. It was a 50 person strong crew and so there were A LOT of moving parts that had to be considered. It really isn’t glamorous but it’s good hard work. We heard that episode got the highest ratings of the season and so look it up!

Inspired by Dame Flora Duffy’s gold medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Department of Culture started a new documentary film series titled Gold Bermudians. These short 10 minute films highlight those Bermudians who made an impact outside of Bermuda. For the first edition of the series (2023), MMB was selected to produce a film about jazz pianist Lance Hayward. In the second series (2024), MMB produced a film about archaeologist Dr. Ed Harris. Instead of talking about these two greats here, just click on their names and go straight to the videos. The 3rd edition of Gold Bermudians will be announced very soon and we have been asked to produce a film about the late Dr. Gary Burgess, opera singer.

Other projects

Newport to Bermuda Race 2024 - MMB was asked to be videographer on the Bermuda media team for this year’s Newport to Bermuda Race; a first for us and them! We were on the high seas (actually just off St. David’s Lighthouse) for a couple of days capturing many of the winning boats coming across the finish line. You can check all the action here!

METHOD also fixed for a crew filming a new doc series called Windblown, also about the Newport to Bermuda Race. The series has been filming for several months now and based on this year’s race which was very eventful, it promises to be an action packed series!

Policing Paradise (ongoing) - a new British Broadcasting Corporation documentary tv series about the Bermuda Police Service. METHOD will be working with this BBC crew for seven weeks helping them with additional filming and crew.

S P I R I T (ongoing) - this doc about Bermuda’s only sweat lodge has been in production on and off since 2022. This is what I love about being in this line of work in Bermuda - it’s such a cool story to tell and people are going to love it.
